Crisis Services
We help empower individuals to stabilize their lives
We help individuals who are experiencing a psychiatric emergency or drug and alcohol emergency. Our goal is to help individuals feel empowered to stabilize their lives.
Our Crisis Department offers walk-in support and services over the phone. Our crisis services are person-centered, trauma sensitive, recovery-oriented, and build internal coping skills.
WALK-IN CRISIS CENTER
Our center provides 24/7 crisis intervention services to individuals, and to providers and organizations acting on behalf of individuals, who are experiencing or at risk of serious mental health crises or potentially life threatening psychiatric emergencies.
Referrals are accepted from hospital emergency departments, outpatient providers, adult, adolescent, older adult inpatient psychiatric facilities, substance use treatment, criminal justice agencies, and other community resources.
As appropriate, we try to divert persons in crisis from unnecessary psychiatric hospitalization and from criminal justice involvement due to behavior related to psychiatric symptoms.
CRISIS HOT LINE
We operate a clinically-staffed 24/7 call center providing crisis intervention by phone. Our Crisis Caseworkers triage calls in terms of serious mental health needs and imminent danger to the caller or other parties.
As needed, callers receive crisis counseling to help resolve their problems and information about mental illness and substance use services and referrals to community behavioral health resources.
SUICIDE AND CRISIS LIFELINE (988)
We are one of 13 Lifeline call centers in Pennsylvania and over 200 in the US. Our Crisis Counselors offer help to anyone needing support in Montgomery and Delaware Counties. Read more about our 988 Program.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY COMMITMENT OFFICE (MCCO)
The Montgomery County Commitment Office is based in the MCES Crisis Center. It provides 24/7 information and assistance on arranging involuntary psychiatric evaluations of individuals in Montgomery County felt to be a possible danger to themselves or to others.
