We are a leader in assisting law enforcement and individuals in a behavioral health crisis
On a daily basis, we assist individuals who come in contact with the criminal justice and legal systems. Our goal is to promote outcomes that benefit their mental health.
We regularly work with law enforcement throughout the region. Our Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS) Program was the first of its kind in the country. It prepares police officers and other criminal justice personnel to interact safely with individuals in a behavioral health crisis. The training assures that every trainee can recognize and appropriately deal with any mental health situation.
Training covers mental health law, the types and nature of psychiatric disorders, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders. Suicide prevention, medications and psychiatric terminology are also covered.
