About MCES

MCES is a nonprofit behavioral health emergency service that meets the needs of persons experiencing a psychiatric emergency or serious mental health crisis in Montgomery County and adjacent communities on a 24/7 basis.

MCES offers a crisis hot line, walk-in crisis center, acute inpatient psychiatric care, crisis residential program, and psychiatric emergency medical service (EMS). MCES also provides mental health crisis intervention education and suicide prevention programming.

MCES is nationally-recognized leader for its work in behavioral health. It has been recognized by the American Psychiatric Association, the U.S. Department of Justice, the Law Enforcement Assistance Agency and the Public Citizen’s Health Research Group.

MCES developed the country’s first training program to help law enforcement personnel deal with behavioral health emergencies.
